The figure below shows the major sources of OLLI revenue for this year.
The revenue side of OLLI's budget is quite simple, consisting of five line items, projected to total $604,425 for calendar year 2017. Membership dues income at the introductory rate is projected to be $20,000; at the full dues rate, $498,525. The Osher Foundation has established an endowment of $2 million in the George Mason University Foundation for the benefit of OLLI. The endowment will provide revenue for OLLI of $85,500 this year, or about $73 for each OLLI full-dues member. Two other line items – Dividend and Interest Income, and Special Event & Other Income, total only $400, an amount too small to appear in the figure.

Donate canned meat the week of July 10–14.Our second annual “Christmas in July” celebration will be held July 14 at Tallwood (TA-1). For this year’s contribution to our community, we will be collecting donations of canned meat (tuna, chicken, turkey) in the Annex from Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14. Collection boxes will also be available at Reston UCP and Loudoun in the coffee/cookie areas. Remember: canned meat ONLY (due to space constraints).Your donation will help Britepaths (formerly Our Daily Bread) in Fairfax, which helps deserving families in our area. If you want to donate other items, a Britepaths collection van will be in the front parking lot at Tallwood to accept additional donations from 9:00 to 1:00 on Friday, July 14. On July 14 only, your donation of these other items at Tallwood will be very welcome:

Bob Whitbread, OLLI member since fall term 2001, died June 13, 2017. With a love of history, sports, and travel, as well as his family and friends at OLLI, he especially enjoyed history and current events courses, OLLI travel (e.g., the OLLI trip to Las Vegas and the southwestern Utah National Parks in April 2014), wine trips, and history travel (e.g., the OLLI trip to Montpelier, James Madison's home in Orange, Virginia). Other members remember his dignity and friendly presence, often standing near the door before classes to greet and visit with classmates as they arrived. He was recognized nationally for a distinguished career in service to our country.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in Alexandria, VA on Friday, June 30, at 3:00. Additional information may be found at this link.
